This 1977 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features a frosted gold glass ball, with a silver cap, and translucent, plastic sleeve showing the beloved "Charmers" characters on one side and the year on the other. Three young girls and a young boy are standing together and caroling for the holidays, with sheet music being held by the girls on each end. A banner below them reads, "We wish you a Merry Christmas," and the sweet scene is bordered by evergreen branches, covered with Christmas ornaments and toys. The artist's first name is just above the banner. The reverse side is has "1977" inside an oval border with garland above and below it, surrounded by the same Christmas tree branches filled with decorations and presents. the copyright is between the two scenes.
Mary Hamilton, one of the most highly-respected and prolific artists Hallmark ever had, worked for Hallmark Cards for 60 years, creating distinctive work that graced both many Ambassador and Hallmark products with beloved characters, like the "Charmers," which remain collectible and in-demand, today.
