All I ever wanted to do was race, says Bill Elliott, who began by driving Georgia short tracks with his brothers Ernie and Dan. Awesome Bill from Dawsonville won his first NASCAR Winston Cup race in 1983, claimed the Inaugural Winston Million in 1985, and in 1987 drove the fastest official qualifying lap in NASCAR history. In 1988 he won the NASCAR Winston Cup Championship. From 1984 through 1998, Bill Elliott was voted Most Popular Driver 13 times.
