Peanuts Hallmark Ornaments began appearing early in the Keepsake timeline, with the category reaching back to 1977. Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Woodstock, Lucy, Linus, Sally, and the rest of the gang give the category a broad emotional range: ice-skating, baseball, school-pageant scenes, doghouse gags, holiday music, and A Charlie Brown Christmas moments all fit naturally. Peanuts also crosses formats, including standard ornaments, Magic pieces, miniatures, tree toppers, and display sets.

Peanuts favorites 1977 Peanuts Ball and 1979 Ice-Hockey Holiday, Peanuts, Snoopy and Friends #1 show two early Peanuts directions: a simple 1977 ball release and the 1979 start of the Snoopy and Friends sports-style sequence. Over time, the category became one of Hallmark's most flexible licensed themes. Snoopy can be an ace pilot, hockey player, surfer, writer, scout, drummer, or sleepy beagle, while Charlie Brown often brings the sincere holiday mood.
