Hallmark Miniature Tree Skirts

Hallmark miniature tree skirts complete the lower half of a tabletop-tree display. They hide the stand, define the scene beneath the branches, and repeat colors or characters used above. Scale is central: the skirts in this category are generally about twelve inches across, far smaller than a skirt made for a household tree.

The early designs were reversible and did not depend on a licensed character. Product QXM4134, the 1990 Holly and Solid Green skirt, measures 12.25 inches. One side carries a holly print; the other is solid green, and gold-colored trim finishes the edge. The 1994 Plaid Snowflake skirt, QXM4456, uses plaid on one side and solid red on the other with the same gold-colored trim. Turning either skirt over changes the background without changing the ornaments.

Later releases made the skirt part of a particular story. The 2023 Halloween Town Tree Skirt belongs to The Nightmare Before Christmas display world. It is a skirt rather than the separate Halloween Town glass-ball ornament set, even though both share the same license and year.

Some products combine the bottom and top of the tree. Matt Johnson’s Peanuts topper-and-skirt set, QSB6249, includes two pieces. Snoopy rests on his decorated red doghouse in the topper, while the twelve-inch red skirt shows him asleep on a light string and carries the words “ho ho ho.” This package should be recorded as a set, not as a skirt sold alone.

Terri Steiger’s fabric 2024–2025 Nostalgic Holiday skirt, QSB6421, brings the category forward with vintage-style Santa, snowman, and reindeer pictures, gold snowflakes, plaid trim, and “Ho Ho Ho” lettering. It coordinates with the Vintage Santa ShowToppers mini tree topper but is listed separately.

Diameter, reversibility, fabric pattern, license, product code, and included topper distinguish these accessories. Tree skirts do not advance an ornament series number, yet they can be essential parts of a coordinated display. Keeping a two-piece package together and separating standalone skirts from matching toppers preserves the exact format Hallmark offered from 1990 to the present.
