As Mulan joins the army in place of her father, she cuts her hair.  This ornament symbolizes her act of love, commitment, and courage, as she takes a sword to her long hair.  She is brightly dressed, but ready for battle!!  The ornament is plastic with her hair very dramatically against the sword.
