1979 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

QX2547NB

This 1979 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features an unbreakable, cream-colored satin ball, with a transparent plastic sleeve, printed with angels singing to a furry forest animals and birds. Both sides are bordered with a holly and evergreen garland, interspersed with red berries and green vines. On one side, a choir of angels sings with one playing a small harp, next to a kneeling deer, and musical notes floating in the air behind them. The artist's first name is under the angel playing the harp. The dated panel shows a single angel with a songbook, surrounded by musical notes with white rabbits, birds, chipmunks, and a brown squirrel listening intently to her singing. The sentiment reads, "... and heaven and nature sing. 1979, " in script font. The ornament is also dated on the copyright, printed on the sleeve, in between the two panels.

Mary Hamilton, one of the most highly-respected and prolific artists Hallmark ever had, worked for Hallmark Cards for 60 years, creating distinctive work that graced both many Ambassador and Hallmark products with beloved characters, like the "Charmers," which remain collectible and in-demand, today.
