This 1980 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features a Donna Lee Angel, asleep on the moon. Dressed in a blue gown with metallic-silver border on the hem, and wearing a metallic-silver halo, the sleepy 'lil dear has propped up her head with her hand on her chin and sits at the bottom of a frosted acrylic crescent moon. The moon is wearing a stocking cap and also sleeping, with a metallic-gold star hanging from the tip of it's cap, dangling over the angel's head. The moon has extra long eyelashes, high cheekbones, feminine lips, and a pert little nose, so it's not the typical "Man in the Moon" face we historically see. The ornament is packaged in the original box with clear plastic lid, black flocked plastic tray, molded for protection, and has a metallic-gold tag.
Donna Lee, the artist, worked for Hallmark from 1958 until she retired in the early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake series, "Nostalgic Houses and Shops," and "Donna Lee Angels."
