1980 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX1561BDB
This Hallmark Christmas Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features a shadowbox shaped like a Christmas tree, with a gold star dated "1980" on top and "BABY'S FIRST CHRISTMAS," in red on the tree trunk. The back has "Fist Christmas 1980" embossed in metallic-gold cursive text, with the dated copyright below. The shadowbox has three shelves, trimmed in green, and five compartments, filled with children's toys: blue, red, and green blocks spelling, "BABY," a white ball with blue stripe and blue star, a brown teddy bear next to a ring stacker, a white duck, and a metallic-silver cup at the top with "BABY" engraved on the front. It's packaged in the original metallic-gold box, with clear, plastic lid, molded black flocked plastic tray, and the original metallic-gold tag.
Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
