1980 Drummer Boy, Dough-Look - Damaged Box
1980 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX1474DB
This 1980 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features a blonde drummer boy with "pasta-like" hair, that appears to be made of baker's dough, aka "baker's clay," which can either be edible yeast-dough used for baking bread, or a fun, non-edible salt-dough, used for crafting and sculpting. The little drummer is wearing a tan stocking cap, blue tunic, and leather-look single-strap slide-on sandals. He's playing his red snare drum with metallic-gold accents on the hoop, snare head, and tension rods, and the top, or batter head, is dated "1980." The ornament is packaged in a cream-colored box with clear, plastic lid and green, flocked plastic insert, molded for protection.
Donna Lee, the artist, worked for Hallmark from 1958 until she retired in the early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake series, "Nostalgic Houses and Shops," and her angels.
