About This Item

1980 Raccoon on a Candy Cane, Ambassador, Rare - Damaged Box

1980 Hallmark Ambassador Ornament

QX29EDB

This 1980 Hallmark Christmas ornament was released by their subsidiary, Ambassador, as part of The Holiday House Collection, and is a rare find for collectors of this box/brand. Ambassador was a division of Hallmark Cards, Inc. from 1979-1982, and approximately 50 different ornaments were sold in select stores, such as Ben Franklin, Woolworth's, card shops, drug stores and supermarkets. The ornament features a sweet raccoon with a red yarn bow around his furry little neck. He's showing his sweet tooth for candy canes and climbed upon one that's three times his size. His little claws have a tight grip, as he holds on, to make sure no one takes his prize! The ornament is meant to hang from the top of the cane and is packaged in the original Ambassador box with clear, plastic window, and a green, flocked plastic insert tray, molded for protection.
