1983 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

This 1983 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament features a hand-embroidered stocking filled with toys and candy. The red stocking is made to look like quilted satin and has green patches with red poinsettias on the heel and toe. The top is striped with yellow and green ribbon and white lace in between. A brown teddy bear, candy canes, and other colorful toys peek out the top and the ornament is hung from the navy cord attached. The stocking is not only stuffed with toys but also stuffing and is non-washable. The attached tag indicates "All new material" and "synthetic fibers." It's packaged in the original full color box.

NOTE: This ornament was reissued in 1984 by Hallmark.

Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
