1996 Mom
1996 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX5824
This 1996 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament is handcrafted and features a cute penguin, in a red and white beanie and bright yellow scarf, sitting on top of a red gift bag and holding a blue present with a metallic-gold ribbon. The white tissue paper has decorative holly clusters interspersed and the sentiment on the front of the bag is printed in metallic-gold: "A Mom is a special gift 1996." The ornament can stand on it's own, or be hung from the top, and the copyright is on the back at the bottom. NOTE: "LaDene" is imprinted in black cursive on the underside of the base, in error, as the ornament was sculpted by artist, Joyce Lyle, not LaDene Votruba.
Joyce Lyle worked at Hallmark over 25 years, designing more than 200 2D and 3D Christmas ornaments, primarily angels, Santas, and snowmen, but also Dorothy and notable themed collectibles, like Toto and Glinda from "The Wizard of Oz." In 2006, she retired but continued creating art for her own company.
