Release route is the key to 2011. the U.S.S. Defiant and the R2-Q5 and R2-A3 droid set were tied to New York Comic Con. Their event setting places them outside a normal store-only path. Each preserves an event-specific version of an established screen collection from 2011.

the Scarlet Tanager event colorway changes an existing Beauty of Birds sculpt rather than becoming another annual bird number. Season’s Treatings #3 existed in three 2011 palettes routed to Gold Crown stores, club reunion attendees, and Atlanta Gift Market retailers. Those routes turned paint differences into distinct records.

Those versions can share a form while differing through paint and distribution. In this year, event history carries information that the sculpt alone may not reveal. The box title and documented route explain why two similar ornaments occupy separate places.

Regular releases continued beside them, including a 1957 Chevrolet Fire Engine as Fire Brigade #9 and the 1966 Batmobile. Sweet Snowmouse introduced the Cookie Cutter Christmas world as a 2011 event complement before #1 began the formal numbered series in 2012. The year therefore contains convention pieces, club and retailer repaints, a store issue, and a pre-series companion. It is less a single visual chapter than a map of where Hallmark ornaments could be encountered.

Sweet Snowmouse adds a particularly useful timing oddity. The mouse world existed as an event companion before the annual number appeared, so the category’s creative beginning and numbered beginning fall in different years. That pattern resembles a pilot scene: the character and scale arrive first, then the formal sequence follows with its own numbering.
