1982 Christmas Memories
1982 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX3116
This 1982 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament is part of the Holiday Treasures Collection and features a white photo holder, in the shape of a Christmas present. It has a big red bow on top, with a metallic-green edge, and within the red and green border, a garland of holly leaves weaves it's way around the package. In the center a rectangular photo holder with clear plastic cover, for protection. On the reverse side, the design is the same but in the center is a sentiment, in metallic-green: "How bright the joys of Christmas, how warm the memories." Underneath the caption, it's dated in metallic-green, "1982", inside an oval, with holly clusters on both sides. The copyright underneath it is also dated. The ornament is encased in a clear, plastic shell, molded for protection, and packaged in the original box, with open "window" on the front and a die-cut opening in the back, in the shape of the ornament.
Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
