This 1983 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament is made of hand-painted fine porcelain and features a Betsey Clark angel sitting on a cloud and dangling a pink star on a stick. This 'lil blonde cutie is dressed in a pale blue gown with dark blue polka dots and has matching blue wings. The ornament cand stand on it's own or be hung from the top and the dated copyright is on the underside of the base. It's packaged in the original box with a full color sleeve.
Betsey Clark (1915–1987), the American artist famous for her old-fashioned drawings of nature and waif-like children, started working for Hallmark in 1962, and her greeting card illustrations were so beloved, Hallmark made their first series of Keepsake Ornaments, in 1973, using her cottage-core art, which was then widely licensed, and is now highly collectible.
