This 1983 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament features a brown-haired elf holding a silver thimble full of strawberry ice cream with a cherry on top. He's wearing a green shirt, red hat with white pom pom, red and green striped stockings, and red elf shoes. His tiny tongue is stuck out in anticipation but he's got quite a job ahead of him, since the sugary treat looks like it's melting quickly! The ornament can sit on it's own or be hung from the top and the copyright is on his backside. It's packaged in the original full color box.
Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
