QX4471
Third in the Clothespin Soldier Hallmark Keepsake series.
This 1984 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament features a clothespin painted as a Canadian Mountie or RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) in the iconic ceremonial dress uniform, known as the "Red Serge," with red jacket, black pants with gold stripe and tan Stetson hat, aka "Boss of the Plains," campaign hat or slouch hat, with the four-dent crown, called a "Montana crease." The arms move and he carries a white flagpole with a white fla,g showing holly leaves and berries in the middle panel, bordered by a red panel on each side. The ornament is encased in a plastic tray, molded for protection, and packaged in the original full color box.
Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996.
